The existing site had a large decked area. The deck had become rotted and was generally falling apart. Not just on the surface of the deck, but the infrastructure as well as in severe stages of decay.

The client wanted porcelain paving and picked it out from our suppliers at Tile Merchant.

They went with the Luna grey porcelain tile – 600mm x 1200mm.

As well as taking out the entire deck, the client wanted the patio at the same level as the existing deck.

To achieve this a retaining wall was built and the level was built up with 27 tons of hardcore.

The rise of the area was rendered with sand and cement and finished with a product called Soltherm. This product gives a unique, texted finish that needs no attention for about 15 years.

What made this patio special was the unique angle that the client wanted the tiles placed. This meant for some for skilled cutting to achieve a high-end professional finish.
